  • Hotels
  • Restuarants

What should you look for when purchasing an industrial boiling pot?

Here are some factors to keep in mind when purchasing a boiling pan.

Capacity

When purchasing a boiling pan, the first thing you need to consider is its capacity. This will depend on the size and type of your establishment. If you have a small cafe, you may only need a boiling pan with a capacity of about 60L.

However, if you run a large restaurant, you might need a larger pan with a capacity of at least 100L. It's essential to assess your needs and choose the right size for your business.

Power source

Commercial boiling pans can be powered by gas or electricity. Gas-powered pans heat up quickly and are more energy-efficient. However, they require a gas line to be installed, which may not be possible in all locations. Electric boiling pans are easier to install and can be used in any location with access to electricity.

They also have precise temperature controls, making them ideal for delicate dishes that require specific cooking temperatures. Consider your kitchen setup and availability of power sources when choosing between gas or electric.

Material

Commercial boiling pans are made from various materials, with stainless steel being the most popular. Stainless steel is durable, easy to clean and resistant to corrosion.

If you have a lower budget, aluminum pans are a more affordable option. They also heat up quickly and are lightweight, making them suitable for smaller establishments. However, they are not as durable as stainless steel pans.

What are the benefits of using a boiling machine?

A commercial boiling pan is a versatile and efficient cooking appliance that offers numerous benefits for professional kitchens.

Versatility

One of the main benefits of using a commercial boiling pan is its versatility. These pans can be used for a wide range of cooking tasks. From simmering and braising to frying and grilling, a boiling pan is suitable for many cooking methods. This versatility makes it a valuable addition to a commercial kitchen, as it can help save time and space by replacing multiple pieces of equipment.

Efficiency

In a busy commercial kitchen, efficiency is crucial. Commercial boiling pans are designed to be highly efficient, allowing chefs to cook large quantities of food quickly and evenly. These pans have a large cooking surface and are built to distribute heat evenly, resulting in faster cooking times.

Additionally, the tilting feature of commercial boiling pans allows for easy transfer of food from the pan to a serving dish. This saves time and reduces the risk of spills or accidents.

Cost savings

With their efficiency and versatility, these pans can help reduce the need for multiple appliances and save on energy costs due to their quick cooking times. Commercial boiling pans are also durable and built to withstand heavy use. This means they have a longer lifespan compared to other cooking appliances.

What type of boiling pans does Maxima offer?

Maxima has various boiling pans in its range. The most important differences are explained below:

Direct heating / single-walled pans:
The boiling pans with direct heating have a single wall with the heat source directly beneath the pan. These pans are great for cooking dishes in water, such as vegetables, potatoes, rice, sausages and meat.

Indirectly heated / double-walled pans:
For liquid dishes like soups, creams, sauces and bouillons, indirect heating pans are the ideal choice. These dishes can burn easily. However, the double wall of these pans, filled with water or steam, provides a heating effect similar to a bain-marie. This reduces the risk of burning.

Maxima offers both electric boiling pans and gas boiling pans. The electric boiling pans always operate on 400V, while the gas boiling pans require a gas connection in your kitchen.

Maxima also offers convenient tilting boiling pans in various sizes. These pans can be tilted for easy access when stirring or adding ingredients, as well as convenient pouring of the contents. With a smooth rotating mechanism and a wide pouring mouth, you can do this without any spills.

How to clean a boiling pan

With frequent use, boiling pans can accumulate a lot of grime and residue, which can be challenging to clean.

By following a few simple steps and using the right tools, you can keep your boiling pan in top condition and ensure its longevity.

  • Before cleaning your boiling pan, make sure it has cooled down completely.
  • Once the pan has cooled down, drain out any excess liquid or food residue. Use a paper towel or a soft cloth to wipe away any remaining residue from the surface of the pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix equal parts baking soda and water to create a paste. Baking soda is a natural cleaner and can effectively remove built-up grime and residue.
  • Using a non-abrasive sponge, apply the baking soda paste to the inside of the pan. Gently scrub, focusing on areas with more residue.
  • Once all residue has been removed, rinse the pan with warm water and dry it with a soft cloth. Make sure to remove any excess moisture as leaving your pan wet can cause rusting.

TIP: Avoid using harsh chemicals or steel wool as they can damage the pan's surface.
